GenPowex gave the employees possibility to effect on productivity and working conditions. The result - Industrial Productivity Award 2009

AGCO SISU POWER GenPowex, a manufacturer of diesel generators and pumps, set a goal to improve productivity and efficiency. This project started in December 2006 and after the first phase, the results are remarkable. Earlier it took two weeks to assemble a generator in a plant located in Tampere, Finland, now it takes only three days.

The employees had a big part in this change. From the very beginning they had a chance to influence on how the assembly should be regenerated. Productivity improved and also job satisfaction improved. As a result to that, the Confederation of Finnish Industries, EK, presented an Industrial Productivity Award 2009 to GenPowex.

Both management and employees say together “In every change it is vital to participate employees to the process, because they are the ones doing the job, so their wellbeing is a key factor when discussing about productivity. Without satisfied employees there cannot be productive companies.” It looks like GenPowex has them both.
