AGCO SISU POWER off-road engine family
AGCO SISU POWER offers the most comprehensive off-road engine family in the 50 to 500 hp power range, with the engine displacement of 3.3 to 9,8 litres. The basic design of AGCO SISU POWER engines has been optimized for off-road use where with over 65 years of experience AGCO SISU POWER has gained excellent reputation for reliability and durability.
SCR technology used in AGCO SISU POWER ENGINES
SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) allows engine manufacturers to optimize internal combustion at a high temperature. The SCR technology uses an industrial urea-water solution to convert the excess nitrogen oxide that results from the highly optimised combustion into harmless water and nitrogen, of which the air always contains approximately 80 %. In this way the exhaust gases are clean and harmless. The SCR system consists of a tank for the AdBlue (DEF) urea-water solution, a pump system, an injection nozzle and the SCR catalyst. When sprayed into the exhaust gases, the AdBlue forms ammonia, the hydrogen of which reduces the oxygen molecules in the nitrogen oxide and forms steam. All that remains is harmless nitrogen. AdBlue is an odorless and harmless liquid that consists of 32.5 % urea and distilled water. The SCR control has been integrated into powerful ECU (Engine Control Unit) with leading edge computing technology. AGCO SISU POWER Stage 3B engines feature a new generation of SisuTronic engine control electronics where the software offers lot of new and further improved features.
Benefits ot the SCR in Stage 3B
With SCR system the emissions are reduced in exhaust line and therefore the combustion process can be optimized for highest fuel economy without sacrificing the engine performance. With Stage 3B SCR engines AGCO SISU POWER can offer the bests fuel economy on the market – up to 10 % improvement. One of the main advantages of SCR over competing solutions is remarkably lower heat rejection to coolant and therefore smaller and less expensive cooling packages and fans can be used. The installation of the engine in vehicles is less complicated when less room is needed. Due to clean combustion process the oil sooting is minimal and oil drain intervals are longer, which lowers the service and life time cost of the engine. SCR engines are also more tolerant to low quality fuel, which is essential characteristic in emerging markets. With optimized combustion the particulate content of the exhaust leaving engine is minimal and therefore the expensive particulate filters that require regeneration can be avoided.
